1. INTRODUCTION

Acoustics is the science of the behaviour of sound waves . It studies the production , propagation and reception of these waves by the human ear.

Acoustics is also the science that studies all the mechanical waves , which lie far beyond the audio range and cannot be detected by the human ear .

Such waves are :

a) the low - frequency waves produced by earthquakes ( subsonic waves ) .
b) the ultrasonic waves and high - frequency oscillations of atoms in the solid bodies .

Acoustics is extremely important in : a) speech and hearing ,( radio studios / theatre auditoriums / assembly halls ) and b) music (production / hearing) in recording studios and concert halls .

If there is no study based on acoustics in advance for the places mentioned above , the result will be bad hearing conditions such as echo ,standing waves , sound reflections , coloration of sound due to undesirable resonance etc .

It is a long way to audio paradise !

So stay tuned and be patient !!!
